LEADER project ‘Time travel’ - Rediscovering past heritage in the Éislek

The LEADER project ‘Time Travel’ brings the history of Éislek to life in a special way. Together with the Attersee-Attergau LEADER region in Austria, 16 municipalities in the Éislek LEADER region are bringing forgotten heritage to light and making it accessible to everyone.

Each municipality has selected a place that tells an exciting, often overlooked story - of old traditions, craftsmanship or historical events. These places are now receiving the attention they deserve and invite people to discover their own region from a new perspective.

An information board has been installed at each of these places, featuring archive photos and historical background information. A QR code leads directly to the Visit Éislek website, where visitors can find further details.

Particularly interesting: four themes that can be found both in Éislek and in the Austrian region of Attersee-Attergau reveal common cultural roots. This cross-border cooperation makes the ‘Time Travel’ project a unique opportunity to discover the heritage of both regions.

‘Time Travel’ is more than just a project - it is an invitation to get to know your own history anew. There is such a place in your municipality that is waiting to be explored by you.

    Former village mill Weiswampach

Though the mill itself no longer stands, its story reveals the complexities of the past and the ways local circumstances could sometimes defy rigid systems.
